Spice Up Your Digestion With Ayurveda

A healthy digestion is a cornerstone of good health, but to maintain a healthy digestion in tough life of Dubai is really difficult. According to Ayurveda, a healthy digestion is a guarantee of good health. A good digestion nourishes the body and boost energy, while a sluggish, heavy feeling can dread your own existence.

Unfortunately, many of us living in Dubai suffer from digestion problems and our home cabinets are usually filled with antacids, probiotics, detox packs and heartburn pills.  Almost every pharmacy has a huge storage of digestive supplements.

Ayurveda cures

Ayurveda, an ancient holistic approach to health, offer time-proven tips on improving digestive health and help in keeping its health. Here is how it can help you in many folds.

Healthy food combinations:

Most of us know that eating healthy food will make us feel better, but eating healthy food in a wrong combination still form toxins and won’t digest easily because different food types need specific digestive enzymes. When we eat a different type of foods in one meal we push our digestive system to produce and secrete different digestive enzymes simultaneously. Eating a good mix of foods in one meal is not a healthy thing. For example, eating bananas with milk (a simple form is a banana shake) can diminish digestive fire, produce toxins and usually cause sinus congestion. This causes confusion in our digestive system and results in serious imbalances.

The good news is that Ayurveda helps you in eating good food; here are some healthy guidelines to follow:

  • Avoid mixing milk or yogurt with citrus fruits as yogurt with fruits is not a healthy choice by an Ayurveda Dubai expert. The reason is hydrochloric acid in the stomach causes the milk to thicken.
  • Eat fruits separately to get the maximum the most nutrients.
  • Avoid mixing cooked and raw foods together.
  • Melons should be eaten all alone.
  • Do not eat milk protein and milk protein altogether.
  • Do not mix fresh milk with other dairy products.

Add a lemon in your diet:

Lemon is nutrient rich vegetable as it is rich in Vitamin C, B, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus. Knowing it’s important, Ayurveda practitioners recommend taking a few drops of lemon in a glass of hot water every morning on an empty stomach. This lemon water has several benefits such as:

  • It keeps the stomach healthy.
  • Flush out toxins.
  • Serve as a good liver tonic.
  • Cure nausea, indigestion, heartburn, stress, high blood pressure and depression.
  • It is anti-aging.

Treating ailments with ginger:

Ginger is a blessing in disguise as it can be called as a universal medicine. It has lots of healing power in it and can cure many ailments such as constipation, cough, and chest congestion and detoxify the body. Ginger boosts digestion and neutralizes toxin as it is warm and spicy in its nature. Simply add it into soups, teas, rice and even in meat and chicken dishes.
